Daryl Ritchison is currently a meteorologist and climate researcher for North Dakota State University.  Previous to his current position he worked for early 25 years as broadcast meteorologist at various midwestern television stations including WDAY-TV and WDAY-AM in Fargo, North Dakota.     

Through his career he has spoken to hundreds of groups on weather, climate, public relations, serving as Master’s of Ceremonies and giving motivational talks. “The best part of the job is getting out and having the opportunity to talk to your audience in person” is something you will hear Daryl say frequently.  You will find him many times a month speaking throughout eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota. 

As a former Junior High Science teacher, Daryl continues his role as an educator as an occasional Adjunct Faculty member for the local universities, serves as a mentor for the American Meteorological Society’s K-12 Educational Initiatives.  He also has helped produce Geographic Information System educational videos via a grant obtain by the University of Minnesota from the National Geographical Society and videos for CoCoRaHS, the Community Collaborative, Rain, Hail and Snow Network.
